1. Our commitment
Fairmetric's management is committed to impartiality in all testing, inspection and certification activities. We will not allow commercial, financial or other pressures to compromise the objectivity of our work, and we act on that commitment through the arrangements below.
Fairmetric Testlabs is a trading name of Gaminglabs International Ltd, a company registered in the Republic of Mauritius (company number to be confirmed). In these documents, “Fairmetric”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Gaminglabs International Ltd, trading as Fairmetric Testlabs. You can contact us at [email protected].
2. Scope
This policy applies to every person who works for or on behalf of Fairmetric, including employees, contractors and subcontractors, and to every testing, inspection and certification activity we carry out.
3. Identifying risks to impartiality
We identify risks to impartiality on an ongoing basis, including risks that arise from our ownership, governance, management, personnel, shared resources, finances, contracts, marketing and the payment of commission or other inducements. Each risk is recorded with the action taken to remove or minimise it. Where a risk cannot be reduced to an acceptable level, we decline the work.
4. Relationships and ownership
Where an ownership, financial or commercial relationship exists between Fairmetric, its owners or related parties and an organisation whose products we are asked to test or certify, we record it, assess the risk it creates, and either apply safeguards that remove the risk or decline the engagement. We do not test or certify products where a related party's interest would compromise the impartiality of the result.
5. Separation of advisory and certification work
We do not provide consultancy that designs or builds a product and then test or certify that same product. Advisory and training services are delivered separately, and staff who advise on a product do not take part in its evaluation or in the certification decision.
6. Personnel
- Staff declare any interest, previous employment or relationship that could affect their impartiality, and update the declaration when circumstances change.
- Staff do not evaluate products of an organisation they have worked for or advised within the previous two years.
- Remuneration is never linked to the number of passes or the outcome of any test.
7. Decisions
Certification decisions are made by competent people who were not involved in the evaluation, on the basis of objective evidence alone.
8. Confidentiality
Information obtained during our work is treated as confidential unless the client makes it public or agrees otherwise, or the law requires us to disclose it. Where the law requires disclosure, we tell the client unless the law prohibits it.
9. Review
Management reviews this policy and the register of impartiality risks at least once a year, and whenever a significant change occurs in our ownership, structure or activities.
10. Raising a concern
Anyone who believes our impartiality has been compromised can raise it with us at [email protected]. Concerns are handled under our complaints and appeals procedure.
