Accreditation is the whole point.

A certificate is only worth what stands behind it. Here is exactly what Fairmetric is built to, and where we are on the way.

ISO/IEC standards

The international standards behind our work.

Accreditation is granted by a national accreditation body that assesses the laboratory against these standards. In Kenya, that body is KENAS.

Accreditation in progress

ISO/IEC 17025

Testing laboratories

General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. This is the accreditation behind our test reports.

ISO/IEC 17020

Inspection bodies

Competence, impartiality and consistency of bodies performing inspection, for on-site and field compliance work.

ISO/IEC 17065

Product certification

Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services. This is what stands behind the certificate itself.

ISO/IEC 27001

Information security

How we hold your source code, game data and commercial information under a controlled, audited management system.

What "in progress" means. We are building the laboratory's quality system, methods and records to these standards and will apply to KENAS for assessment. We do not claim accreditation, or display accreditation marks, until it is granted. When it is, every scope and certificate will be published on this page in full.

Technical standards

What we test against.

Accreditation covers how the laboratory works. Technical standards cover what a product must do. We test against the GLI family of standards used by regulators worldwide, together with each jurisdiction's own requirements.

Recognition

Why a Nairobi certificate travels.

KENAS is a signatory to the ILAC Mutual Recognition Arrangement for testing. Results from a laboratory accredited by a signatory body are recognised by the accreditation systems of the other signatories, which is what lets a report issued in Nairobi be relied on elsewhere. Each regulator still decides which laboratories it recognises, and we will seek that recognition market by market.

Our commitments

Competence

Qualified people and validated methods, assessed against the standard, not asserted.

Impartiality

Independent, unbiased results, with threats to impartiality identified and managed.

Confidentiality

Source code and game data handled under controlled, audited security.

Continuous improvement

Regular internal audits and method reviews, so the lab sharpens over time.

Read our impartiality and independence policy and our complaints and appeals procedure.

Make certification in Africa simpler, faster and local.
